At O-AT-KA, we put a strong and pointed focus on character building and creating a strong moral compass. Our goal each summer is that every single boy that attends O-AT-KA for any amount of time, leaves and returns home a better person than when they arrived. Our main vessel for character development is through the Galahad Program, which is the foundational level of O-AT-KA and everything we do. The Galahad Program focuses on the mottos of: Helpfulness, Obedience, Truth, Chivalry, and Service. These mottos are woven into our activities, our cabin live, our special events, and every other aspect of the day in the life of an O-AT-KA camper; they are what the staff, counselors, and campers use to guide their decision making in and out of Camp.
With these values or mottos so prominent throughout each summer, it is easy to understand how we have been so successful in creating an alumni network that has gone on to be successful members of their communities, have successful careers, and be overall upstanding citizens. O-AT-KA puts a strong focus on development of the soft skills that are needed to succeed in all aspect of life and our alumni reap the benefits after their time at Camp unfortunately comes to an end. Although they may not be physically on campus anymore, the life skills and lessons that they learned are ever present.
